We are happy to announce our first session of 2011-12 extra curriculars here at ISLA!
Ø The registration deadline is this Friday, September 23rd, 2011 and registration is first come first serve. If a class fills, we will send home the registration form and payment with a note.
Ø We will not accept any registrations after Friday, September 23rd, 2011!
Ø Please note that most classes do have grade level limits, so please be aware of the levels when you register your child.
This is a great opportunity for your child to enjoy a fun activity while strengthening their Spanish!!

Mondays - Traditional Cumbia Drum and Gaita Ensemble
Thanks to a generous grant from the ISLA PTO, Señor Gonzalez was able to bring back an entire set of beautiful, hand crafted traditional percussion and wind instruments, including the tambora, llamador, alegre, maracas, gaucho and gaitas. They will explore the rythms of cumbia, porro, meringue and bullerengue.
Ø Grades 3rd – 6th ONLY (Limit 10 students)
Tuesdays – Rhythms and Gymnastics
Please join Señorita Helena from Spain and Señorita Florencia from Argentina in a five week course of rhythms and gymnastics. We will learn how to use ropes, balls, ribbons and hula hoops to dance and do gymnastics.
Ø Grades Kinder – 2nd ONLY (Limit 12 students)
Wednesdays – Paraguayan Dances
Learn some Paraguayan dances with Señor Fernando. You will learn basic steps, a little history about the dances and learn individual and group dances. Learn about music and fun rhythms!
Ø Grades 3rd – 6th ONLY (Limit 12 students)
Thursdays – Soccer
Join Señor Riuz and Señor Javier in a great soccer clinic. Students will engage in soccer drills and skills based on their ability and grades.
Ø Grades Kinder – 3rd ONLY (Limit 20 students)
Thursdays – Guitar Class
Join Señor Gonzalez and learn the basics of acoustic guitar technique in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. You will learn how to read and play a variety of songs and rhythms from beautiful classical pieces to exciting rock tunes. Students must supply their own acoustic guitar.
Ø Grades 2nd – 6th ONLY (Limit 15 students)
